I did some investigating based on the information that you faxed to me
today showing that Ron Rowe approved an air sparge/soil vapor extraction
pilot test study on July 27, 1998, for the site at 308 Grant Street,
Stockton, California. Based on the approval date, Ron was referring.to
Work Plan Addendum dated December 1995. Section 4.3 of this work plan
discusses a soil vapor extraction pilot test using Vw-1 as the extraction
point. I don't believe VW-1 exists today at this site. After discussing .
this matter with Margaret Lagorio and Nuel Henderson, I have concluded that
another work plan using current conditions at the site will need to be
submitted before you can conduct an eight-hour soil vapor extraction pilot
test at Larry's Auto. I regret delaying this pilot study but I think you
will understand why I need another work plan using current site conditions
and data.
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
304 E.
