(AGE) on your
behalf for the above-referenced subject site. In the work plan, AGE proposes to install in-well
air-sparging points into extraction wells EW-1 [screened 30 to 50 feet below surface grade
(bsg)] and EW-2 (screened 58 to 73 feet bsg) to remediate the groundwater in conjunction
with the soil vapor extraction (SVE) system connected to EW-1. The EHD had directed the
submittal of a remedial action work plan by letter dated 02 July 2010.
The EHD approves the work plan as submitted. Install the necessary equipment, including
the two in-well extraction chambers into EW-1 and EW-2, and have the in-situ air sparging
(IAS)/SVE system on line by December 2010. If the initial findings from the IAS/SVE are
favorable, then proceed to submit a work plan to install additional extraction wells with in-well
air-sparging points in the southeast area of your site near monitoring wells MW-4, MW-5, and
MW-8 where high concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination have been
detected in the groundwater.
By letter dated 02 July 2010, the EHD extended the date for submitting a work plan for the
collection of soil gas samples to evaluate the potential threat from vapor intrusion from 01
June 2010 to 30 July 2010. The EHD has not received this work plan; therefore, the EHD is
directing you to submit this work plan within thirty days of date of this letter.
If you have any questions, please contact Vicki McCartney at (209) 468-9852 or by e-mail at
vmccartney(jsicehd.com. ---
