I QUARTERLY REPORT Larry's Auto Repair 308 North Grant Street IStockton, California September 1994 I1.0 INTRODUCTION In accordance with a request from Mr. Charlie Skobrak, Geological Audit Services, Inc (GeoAudit) has prepared this report summarizing assessment and monitoring activities performed during the third quarter of 1994 at 308 North Grant Street in Stockton, California (the site) Three monitoring wells were sampled during the third quarter. The Ilocation of the site is illustrated in Figure 1 A plan of the site is illustrated in Figure 2 2.0 BACKGROUND 2.1 Site Location IThe site is located in a flat commercial area in central Stockton, on the northeast corner of the intersection Grant Street and Miner Avenue (Figure 1) The site is operated by Larry's Auto Repair. The property is occupied by a single building, attached canopy and parking area. I2.2 Underground Storage Tank Removals I On April 24, 1987, a 1,000-gallon gasoline underground storage tank (UST) was removed from the northwest side of the property (Tank A) A soil sample collected from beneath the former tank excavation contained elevated levels of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and Ixylenes (BTE&X) Two additional 1,000-gallon tanks (Tank B and C) were removed from the southern portion I of the property on May Z5, 1990 by Thorpe Ohl Company Tank B contained diesel fuel and Tank C contained leaded gasoline The locations of the former tanks are presented in Figure 2 An initial subsurface assessment was performed below Tank A by WaterWork Corporation. One soil boring was advanced to a depth of approximately 35 feet below ground surface I (bgs) near the area of highest concentration of soil contamination detected during the tank removal. Groundwater was encountered at 32 feet bgs. Details of the initial assessment are summarized in WaterWork's "Preliminary Assessment Report"dated January 12, 1990.
