INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr Charles Skobrak,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc (AGE)has prepared this
' Cone Penetrometer Testing Report for the property located at 308 North Grant Street, Stockton,
California (site) The scope of work included the advancement of six cone penetrometer testing
(CPT) borings and preparation of this report The site and surrounding area are illustrated on
' Figure 1 Structures, soil borings, and monitoring well locations are illustrated on Figure 2
Additional site background information is provided in Appendix A
' Field work was conducted in accordance with guidelines issued by the Central Valley Regional
Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)for the investigation of underground storage tank(UST)
' sites Cone penetrometer testing procedures are outlined in the AGE-prepared WorkPlanAddendum,
dated 20 October 2004
I2.0. PROCEDURES
On 13, 14, and 16 through 18 December 2004 and 13 January 2005, six soil borings (CPT-1 and
CPT-5 through CPT-9)were advanced on-and off-site(Figure 2)utilizing CPT technology At each
boring location, lithologic data was collected from an initial CPT sounding, immediately adjacent
to the sounding, twin borings were advanced to collect soil and grab ground water samples from
selected depths
21 ADVANCEMENT OF CPT BORINGS
The CPT investigation utilized a 25-ton,truck-mounted CPT drill rig equipped with 2-inch diameter
hollow-stem rods A hydraulic ram was utilized to advance a piezocone (cone penetrometer with
pore pressure measurement)attached to the hollow-stern rod assembly to the total depth of each soil
boring, a piezocone illustration is provided in Appendix B Although the proposed total depth of
each boring was to be 225 feet below surface grade (bsg), all borings encountered refusal before
reaching the targeted depth
• Soil boring CPT-1 was advanced to a total depth of 198 feet at the north end of Larry's
Auto parking lot, approximately 8 feet east of UST#1,
• Soil boring CPT-5 was advanced to a total depth of 115 feet on the west side of the Aurora
Street right-of-way, approximately 95 feet north of the corner of Aurora Street and Miner
IAvenue,
. Soil boring CPT-6 was advanced to a total depth of 192 feet on the north side of the Miner
R Advanced GeoEnvironmcntai,Inc ..
