Bridges Specialty Center, 2233 Grand Canal Boulevard, Irvine, California <br /> (Site Code 505361) - Request for Site Closure <br /> Dear Mr Sasson <br /> ENVIRON Corporation (ENVIRON) is pleased to present this letter report in support of closure <br /> of the above referenced site As requested in your June 22, 1995 letter to George Bravante, we <br /> . are enclosing a screening risk assessment that evaluates potential risks associated with residual <br /> levels of hydraulic fluid in the soil, along with site background information <br /> 1.0 Background <br /> The Bridges Specialty Center is situated in a residentiaVcommercial district, located at 2233 Grand <br /> Canal Boulevard, City of Stockton, County of San Joaquin, California The site consists of a 2- <br /> story, retail strip shopping center and a Marshall's department store The site is located <br /> approximately 10 feet above sea level (CRC Environmental Risk Management, Incorporated <br /> [CRC] 1995) <br /> The property is bordered to the north by March Lane, to the south by Grand Canal Boulevard, to <br /> the west by small office buildings, and to the east by Venezia Boulevard Land usage in the area <br /> is primarily multi-family/single-family residential, with retail shopping centers and office <br /> buildings (CRC 1995) <br /> At the Bridges Specialty Center, hydraulic fluid contamination was suspected from a leak m an <br /> elevator piston housing, which was buried in an uncased borehole at a depth of 13 feet below <br /> ground surface (bgs) Hydraulic fluid from the elevator was found to be in direct contact with the <br /> soil in the uncased borehole CRC's environmental investigation revealed that there was impact to <br /> the ground water in a radius of approximately 10 to 12 feet from the source and that the upper 10 <br /> feet of the soils below the elevator pit were saturated with hydraulic fluid (CRC 1994) At the <br /> request of Brazos Partners L P , CRC assessed the elevator pit leak at the site <br /> Ad uwn 11PBI Ennran—e S.—G—,I G <br /> One Park Plaza • Suite 700 • Irvine, California 92714 - USA • Tel (714) 261-5151 - (213) 587-5151 Fax (714) 261-6202 <br />
