The <br /> annular space surrounding the screened portion of the well <br /> was backfilled with Number 3 Monterey Sand as filter pack to <br /> approximately 2 feet above the top of the screened interval. <br /> A bentonite annular seal was placed above the filter pack, <br /> and the. remaining annulus grouted with concrete to the <br /> surface. Monument boxes were installed above grade to <br /> minimize potential damage to the wells.
