REVISED LABORATORY REPORTS FOR
NOVEMBER 26, 1992 SAMPLING EVENT
The laboratory report was revised to include analytical interpretation of the chromatograms.
Laboratory analysis for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) quantify detected
concentrations against gasoline or diesel standards (TPH-G or TPH-D). After samples have
been prepared using specified methods of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for
extraction and sample preparation, the recovered sample extract is analyzed using a gas
chromatograph flame ionization detector (GUID). From review of the chromatograms
generated by the GCFID and comparison to gasoline or diesel standard chromatograms, it
can be determined whether a reported concentration is or is not gasoline or diesel; i.e. the
concentration reported for the sample was quantified against a diesel standard, but does not
appear to contain diesel.
I
i
