i <br /> %ALTON <br /> GEDSCIENCE <br /> b n!:�C 3 Pli 1t. 13 <br /> i <br /> December 29, 1998 <br /> Ms. Lori Duncan Alton Project No. 30-0136 <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue <br /> Tracy, California 95202 <br /> SITE: FORMER MOBIL BULK PLANT 04-343 <br /> 500 EAST GRANTLINE ROAD <br /> TRACY, CALIFORNIA <br /> RE: MONITORING WELL ABANDONMENT REPORT <br /> Dear Ms.Duncan: <br /> On behalf of Mobil Business Resources Corporation, Alton Geoscience submits this well abandonment <br /> report for the destruction of eight monitoring wells at the former Mobil Bulk Plant 04-343, located at <br /> 500 East Grantline Road, Tracy, California(Figure 1). <br /> Prior to the abandonment of these wells, well destruction permits were obtained from San Joaquin <br /> i <br /> County Public Health Services. See Appendix A for copies of the well destruction permits. <br /> j� On November 19 and 20, 1998, eight(8) monitoring wells (AW-1, AW-2, AW-4, and AW-8 through <br /> AW-12) were destroyed by Spectrum Exploration, Inc. of Stockton, California (Figure 2). The well <br /> destructions were completed in accordance with the requirements of the State of California Well <br /> Standards Bulletin 74-81, Chapter II,Part III, Section 23. <br /> Well destruction activities involved overdrilling the well casings, screens and annular fill material with. <br /> hollow-stem augers. Wells located within the former Mobil Bulk Plant boundaries were filled to three <br /> (3) feet below grade with neat cement. The remaining three (3) feet were backfilled with native soil. <br /> AW-8, located in the Leprino Foods parking lot adjacent to the site, was filled to grade with neat <br /> cement.
