PHS/EHD has the following
comments.
PHS/EHD was not notified of the February 21, 1992 sampling event.
Please be informed that site inspections of sampling events are
an important aspect of local regulatory oversight. For future
reference, please notify Mary Meays at the number below, 48 hours
prior to any site activity.
The Water Sampling Field Survey data sheets, included with the
monitoring report, indicated that temperature, pH, or
conductivity parameters were not measured during purging.
Temperature, pH, and conductivity parameters are measured to
verify that groundwater has stabilized after well volumes are
purged prior to sampling. During future sampling events these
parameters should be measured and recorded.
PHS/EHD was notified and was present during the March 26, 1992
pump-out of AW-3 . Obvious petroleum odors were observed as
approximately 200 gallons of groundwater were removed during the
pump-out.
In the circumstances described above, PHS/EHD questions the
validity of the February 21, 1992 sample results which reported
no detectable petroleum contaminates in any of the monitoring
wells.
Additionally, purge water disposal documentation was not included
with the monitoring report. Please include purge water disposal
documentation with future monitoring reports.
A Division of San Joaquin Counry Health Care Services
