i
Mobil Oil Corporation 3800 WEST ALAMEDA AVENUE,SUITE 700
BURBANK,CALIFORNIA 91505-4331
January 3 , 1991
Ms. Diane Hinson FORMER MOBIL BULK PLANT
San Joaquin Co. 500 EAST GRANTLINE ROAD
Pubric Health Services TRACY, CALIFORNIA
Enviromental Health Division
Post Office Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
— Dear Ms. Hinson:
Enclosed for your review are the Soil Excavation and
Preliminary Ground Water investigation Report and a Work
Plan for Additional Site Investigation, for the subject
site.
Work performed at the site included in-situ characterization
and excavation of diesel and gasoline contaminated soil , and
installation of 4 ground water monitoring wells. Soil
sampling data indicates that all of the soil with elevated
levels of petroleum hydrocarbons within the confines of the
site has been removed. Only one of the wells (AW-3) had
detectable levels of dissolved TPH and BTEX, though the
concentrations for the BTEX compounds were below state
action levels.
Borings and monitoring wells are proposed to characterize 3
soil and ground water contamination offsite. The work is
planned for early February 1991. If we do not receive a
response by the end of January 1991, we will assume you have
no 'objections to the work.
Please call if you have questions.
Sincerely,
A n Mark P. Ausburn =
Senior Staff
_ J ;r '' Hydrogeologist
MPA/st
Attach. p 3
_,3
