KAPREALIAN ENGINEERING, INC.
K E I Consulting Engineers
535 Main Street
Martinez, GA 94553
(415) 228-1882 -
KEI-P86-031
March 6, 1986
Mr. C. E. Galloway
Mobil Oil Company
612 South Flower Street
Los Angeles, CA 90017 '
Re: Mobil-Tracy Bulk Plant Located at
500 E. Grantline Road, Tracy, ' California
Dear Mr. Galloway:
Kaprealian Engineering Inc. is providing this proposal to
perform a subsurface contamination investigation at the above
subject site. This proposal follows our visit on February 27,
1986, and discussion with you.
In order to evaluate the presence of petroleum hydrocarbons
in the soil and the groundwater underlying the area, we are
proposing the following:
1. Excavate stained soils based on site assesment and
feasibility. This excavated soil will be stockpiled above
ground and on a plastic sheet. '. All precautions will be taken
to abate runoff from the stockpile during the wet season.
The stockpiled soil will be analyzed for total petroleum
hydrocarbons in order to dispose to an approved landfill.-
02 . We propose to take total of six soil samples, three (3) in bc.z
the area of the tanks, one adjacent to the building, and bud'
another two behind the Main Building (see sketch) . The soil,
samples will be analyzed for total hydrocarbons as gasoline.
3: The existing wells will also be analyzed for total 'lft r
hydrocarbons, Benzene, Toluene and Xylene. "y
Following completion of the field investigation and S
laboratory analysis of the samples,. a technical report will be
submitted which will contain a description of the subsurface
conditions, the soil and water analyses and conclusions, with
recommendations for further measures.
