The site is located <br /> northwest of the intersection of Grant Line and Corral Hollow Roads. Soil and groundwater samples <br /> will be collected from approximately 18 locations at the site (Figure 1) to assess the extent of affected <br /> soil and groundwater. The investigation will be conducted.in accordance with the scope of work <br /> described in our 10 August 1,995 letter, "Proposed Additional Soil-and Groundwater"Investigation,Grant <br /> Line and Corral Hollow Roads Site" (attached). The scope-of work was approved by the California <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) in their 23 August 1995 letter to CPL (attached). <br /> Thirteen of the proposed borings will be located within the City of Tracy's Corral Hollow Road right-of- <br /> way and five borings will be within private property (Figure1). Chevron plans to conduct the investiga- <br /> tion from 10 October to 12 October 1995: <br /> The borings will be installed by Precision-Sampling,Inc., of San Rafael, California using a direct-push <br /> ' method. We have requested that Precision send an approval letter to the County for Geomatrix to sign. <br /> the permit application forms. The borings will be 2 to 2'/z inches in diameter and advanced to <br /> approximately 1.5 feet below ground surface. The boringswill-be grouted with a bentonite/cement <br /> mixture using a tremie pipe after the samples have been collected.
