Box 2009 <br /> Stockton, California 95201 <br /> Subject: Application.for Permit to Abandon Wells: <br /> Grant Line and Corral Hollow Roads Site <br /> Tracy, California <br /> Dear Ms. Lagorio: <br /> Chevron Research and Technology:Company requested that Geomatrix Consultants, Inc., submit <br /> this application for a permit to abandon wellsat the site in Tracy, California. The site is located <br /> northwest of the intersection of Grant Line and Corral Hollow Roads (attached map). Chevron <br /> plans to abandon 11 wells at the site as part,of their Phase I groundwater remediation activities. <br /> The remediation work plan-was submittedto the California Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> (RWQCB) on 23 February, 1994 and was approved by RWQCB'in a 3 March 1994 letter to <br /> Chevron. These 11 wells are MW-2,.MW4 through MW 8, MW-10 through MW-13, and ASW-1. <br /> -Wells MW-12 through MW-14 and ASW-1 are proposed wells to be installed in phases. The <br /> other.eight wells to be abandoned are existing wells. These wells will be abandoned in phases <br /> depending on the City of Tracy's schedule of road construction work. The locations of these wells <br /> are shown on the attached map. <br /> The well .abandonmentservices will be .provided by Spectrum Exploration, Inc., of Stockton, <br /> California. The wells will be drilled out using the hollow-stem auger-method. The boreholes will <br /> be filled with grout to 3 feet below gradevia tremie.pipes. Native material will be placed in the <br /> top 3 feet of the borehole.--Mr..Infurna�has indicated that the San,Joaquin County Environmental <br /> Health Division (EHD) has .records of Spectrum's contractor information.
