thank you.
and just to confirm my suspicions, what 'date' did you shedule this with the drillers?
From: Koschel, Dana [mailto:Dana.Koschel@arcadis-us.com]
Sent: Thursday, July 15, 2010 4:33 PM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Cc: Just, Allen
Subject: RE: Corral Hollow and Grant Line Roads,Tracy -destruction of six existing wells
Mike,
Chevron just received approval from the Regional Board to abandon the six existing wells (5
groundwater monitoring and 1 groundwater extraction)associated with the Corral Hollow and Grant
Line Roads site located in Tracy, CA. You will be receiving the permit application, fees, and site
plan tomorrow morning via FedEx. Will forward you the Regional Board approval letter as soon as
we receive it. We are also putting together an SOP for the well destruction per the information you
sent me. We should have that to you tomorrow or Monday.
Thanks
Dana
From: Mike Infurna [EH] [mailto:MInfurna@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Friday, July 09, 2010 3:13 PM
To: Koschel, Dana
Subject: RE: Corral Hollow and Grant Line Roads, Tracy -destruction of six existing wells
up to and including Friday, July 30, 2010, the EHD permit fee for well destructions
at this site is $60 per parcel. (NOT a 'per-boring' charge).
Applications received AFTER this date will be subject to the fee increase which
has been approved by the SJ County Board of Supervisors and goes into affect
Monday, August 2, 2010. The modifications are significant and include 'per-
boring' charges. The EH staff is being introduced to the many fee changes in a
meeting July14. As of today, I do not know exactly what the new prices/policy is.
can let you know the exact fee for your project after our July 14 meeting.
a materials and method plan for the well destructions is required by the EHD to
ensure the procedures adhere to our County Well Standards. I've attached the
relavant portion of the SJ County Well Standards, a CA Water Code Section, and
excerpt from State Bulletin 74-90 for your review so that you may propose the
correct method. We interpret 'area of known contamination' to be contaminated
water and/or soil samples from the well. Historically ND gw from a well is 'clean'.
same for soil at time of installation. Any detectable contaminant in a gw sample
from the well typically disqualifies that well from a 'pressure grout' destruction.
Some other situations apply also and we can discuss them if you and I don't agree
on the requested procedure for a well's destruction.
you may call me if you have any additional questions.
7/19/2010
