FIELD INVESTIGATION WORK PLAN
541 West Grant Line Road
' Tracy, California
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This Work Plan presents the scope of work and methodology for conducting a field investigation
and laboratory testing program for the 541 West Grant Line Road property(Site) located in
Tracy, California(Figure 1) In July 2002, the Site was listed as a Regional Water Quality
' Control Board (RWQCB) Spills, Leaks, Investigation, and Cleanup (SLIC)program site under
the assumption that onsite activities, other than leaking underground storage tanks (LUSTS), had
' contributed to contaminating the groundwater Available information on the Site and adjacent
properties was subsequently compiled in a Site Assessment Report (Treadwell &Rollo, 2003)
This report evaluated whether the source of onsite contamination was the result of past activities
at the Site or if it may have migrated from an offsite source area The Site Assessment Report
. concluded that there was no evidence of an onsite source and it was likely that the groundwater
contamination was from an offsite source This Work Plan was prepared subsequent to a
tdiscussion with Ms Wendy Cohen of the Central Valley RWQCB on S July 2003, to address the
need for additional subsurface information
2.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The objective of the Work Plan is to establish procedures for sample collection and testing of soil
' and groundwater The work will be performed using a phased approach to collect the data
needed to assess the lateral and vertical extent of onsite contamination and to fiuther evaluate
potential offsite source areas This information will then be used to develop a Corrective Action
Plan The scope of work for the two proposed phases of fieldwork may include the following
' tasks
1
Field Investigation Work Plan 1 2 September 2003
' TREADWELL&ROLLO,INC
