INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr Tom Brenkwrtz, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared the <br /> i enclosed Phase II Environmental Assessment report for the property at 541 West Grantlme Road, <br /> Tracy, California(subject property) The location of the site and its surroundings are illustrated on <br /> Figure 1 Major features on the site and soil probe boring locations are illustrated on Figure 2 <br /> i <br /> 1 1 PREVIOUS ENVIRONMENTAL INVESTIGATION <br /> i A Phase I Environmental Assessment is currentlybeen n <br /> g conducted by AGE on the subject property <br /> ' During a review of local regulatory agency files for sites surrounding the subject property, AGE <br /> discovered that a petroleumhydrocarbon release had affected the groundwater at 575 West Granthne <br /> Road (Figure 2) It appears that the hydrocarbon plume had not been fully assessed at this site, <br /> i therefore,AGE recommended that aPhase II Environmental Assessment be conducted at the subject <br /> property to determine whether the hydrocarbon plume from 575 West Grantlane Road had migrated <br /> to the subject property <br /> 12 REGIONAL GEOLOGIC/HYDROGEOLOGIC SETTING <br /> iAccording to Geologic Map of California (1966, California Department of Conservation Dzvasion <br /> of Mmes and Geology), the property 7s situated within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province <br /> (GVGP) of California The GVGP is a large, elongate, northwest trending, asymmetric structural <br /> trough which has been filled with thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to <br /> Recent, creating a nearly flat-lying alluvial plain, extending from the Tehachapi Mountains in the <br /> i south to the Klamath Mountains in the north The western and eastern boundaries of this province <br /> are comprised of the California Coast Range and the Sierra Nevada, respectively Rocks composing <br /> the basement complex of the province have not been completely defined but are believed to be <br /> ' metamorphic and igneous In origin <br /> During this investigation, the ground water was encountered at an approximate depth of 10 feet <br /> ibelow surface grade (bsg) <br /> ' 13 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> To meet the objective, the scope of work included advancement of Six soil probe borings, collection <br /> and analysis of soil and ground water samples and abandonment of the sir soil borings <br /> iT Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> i <br />
