The Report discusses the soil
and grab groundwater sampling results from three borings about 50 feet north of the estimated
location of the pipeline.
Evaluation of the sample chromatograms by the laboratories state the detections identified as jet
fuel are more characteristic of weathered or degraded gasoline, Based on the review of the Report,
Regional Board staff had a conference call with you and David Evans of SECOR on 19 August to
discuss the results , Based on that conversation, Chevron submitted the Work Plan which proposes
to do additional research to verify the location of the pipeline, provide information on the product
currently and historically transported by the pipeline, do a utility search along West Grant Line
Road, and prepare a groundwater flow direction history for the area based on nearby sites,
Regional Board staff concurs with the Work Plan, By 29 October 2004, please submit the
additional information requested in the 19 August phone conversation and proposed in the Work
Plan.
