Grant Line Road, Tracy, CA 95376
2014 Review Summary Report Response CUF Claim No 9662
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has received and reviewed the
preliminary review for the subject site titled Review Summary Report - Additional Work, signed
20 October 2014 by Kirk Larson and Pat Cullen (for Robert Trommer) of the State Water
Resources Control Board (SWRCB) Cleanup Fund (Fund) .
The Fund evaluation , based on the Low-threat Underground Storage Tank Case Closure Policy
(LTCP) criteria , addressed three impediments to closure identified by the EHD: 1 ) possible
incomplete removal of secondary source; 2) potential excessive vapor intrusion to indoor air
risk; and 3) potential excessive human health risk through direct contact with impacted soil .
the Fund_ concurred with the EHD-identified impediments r aarding _potential residual
secondary source and health risk through direct exposure to impacted soil , but determined
through a professional site-specific assessment that there is no significant risk of petroleum
vapors adversely affecting human health . The Fund recommended that the EHD direct the
responsible party to conduct a shallow soil assessment of the site to evaluate the current
conditions and implement focused remediation if warranted. By letter dated 05 September 2014,
` the EHD directed preparation and submittal of a work plan to collect sufficient data to quantify
the health risk hazard ; once the work plan has been received , approved and implemented , the
EHD will evaluate the findings and direct remediation if warranted .
Questions or comments should be directed to Vicki McCartney at (209) 468-9852 or to Nuel
Henderson at (209) 468-3436.
Sincerely,
I
Nuel Henderson , PG
Engineering Geologist
2014 Review Summary Report Recommendations Response CUF Claim No 9662 . doc
