Soil analytical results also identified oil and grease,
diesel, and other semivolatile organic compounds in the vicinity of the former waste oil tank and
lube bay sump. Groundwater samples from the UST tankpit detected the presence of TPHGas and
BTEX.
Also attached, is a workplan dated July 20, 1994, which was prepared by Touchstone. The
workplan-describes-procWuresto-remediate-soils-in-thevicinity- of-the-former waste-oil-tankpit-th
lube bay sump, and the southern pump island areas. Excavated soils which contain non-fuel
w constituents will be stockpiled and later disposed of at an appropriate landfill facility. All excavated
soils impacted by TPHG/BTEX will be stockpiled onsite and aerated according to procedures
specified by the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District. Upon completion of soil
u aeration, remediated soils will be used onsite as tankpit backfill material. Concurrence will be
sought from the San Joaquin County Public Health Services prior to using any remediated soil as
backfill material.
If you have any questions or comments, you may contact me at (510) 842-8695.
Sincerely,
IJ
Brett L.
