Hazelton Avnue <br /> Stockton, California 95205 <br /> SCH# 2020019016 Costco Truck Trailer Parking Facility, San Joaquin County <br /> Community Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) <br /> Dear Ms. Hernandez: <br /> The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) State Water Projects Division of <br /> Operations and Maintenance (O&M) staff has reviewed San Joaq uin's IS/MND for the <br /> proposed trailer parking and storage facility. DWR has the following comments. <br /> Project Description <br /> The proposed project is a site approval application to construct a trailer parking and <br /> storage facility including removal of all existing structures and septic systems, construction <br /> of an 80-square-foot restroom building, onsite retention pond, and on-site bio-swale <br /> retention basin. The facility will be accessed 7-days per week, 24-hours per day from <br /> South Hansen Road. <br /> Specific Comments <br /> We request the following comments be addressed. <br /> Other Public Agencies Whose Approval Is Required <br /> Under Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 23, § 600 et seq, DWR is a Public Agency whose approval <br /> is required when a proposed project involves work within the State Water Project <br /> (SWP) right-of way. If the approved project encroaches on SWP right-of-way, the <br /> project proponent will be required to obtain an encroachment permit from DWR. <br /> The proposed project is located west of, and adjacent to, DWR right-of-way for the <br /> California Aqueduct (Aqueduct) which is part of the SWP. The only access to the proposed <br /> project location would be over the open Aqueduct via Hansen bridge. The Hansen bridge <br /> was constructed by DWR concurrently with the Aqueduct to allow a property owner access <br /> to the portion of his land that was made inaccessible due to the construction of the <br /> Aqueduct. <br /> Currently, the Hansen bridge is owned and maintained by DWR. The Hansen Road <br /> approaches to the Hansen bridge are within DWR right-of-way. The project proponent would <br />
