San Joaquin Courcy
September 16, 1996
Page 3
RECONNAISSANCE GROUNDWATER SAWLING
Groundwater from each exploratory Push point location(boring)will be sampled. The ground water
samples collected Som the boreholes will be used for a raid of the site groundwater
contamination. The boreholes and temporary wells will be sampled using the attached Sampling protocol.
A brief summary of these procedures follows: Each borehole will be advanced into the aquifer and
temporarily cased. The water entering the borehole will be sampled using a clean bailer, and carefully
poured into the qViropriate labs+preserved and prepared container with minimum cavitation.
Each water sample will be labeled, logged onto a chain-of-custody form, and placed in a chilled ice chest.
Upon completion of the borehole sampling, the borehole will be sealed from bottom to top with grout.
C1KNUCAL ANALYSIS
Up to ten sail and ten groundwater samples will be analyzed at a State certified analytical laboratory.
Selected samples will be tested at a minimum for the following,(TPHG),(TTHD)and(BTEX),using
EPA Methods 5030,3510/5015. These samples will be analysed at Friedman and Bruya Laboratories in
Seattle,Washington so potential native hydrocarbons can be discriminated from presence of petroleum
%d hydrocarbons. The analyses will be performed on a normal turnaround basis.
REPORT
A report of the results will be prepared with the chemical data, field logs, sampling methods as provided
for in Contemporary guidance documents published by the PHS-E1lD and the State of California,Regional
Water Quality Control Board.
Please advise when Wright can schedule the site work identified in this workplan.
Sincerely,
Wright Envil Services,Inc.
John Lynch
Ptojoct Manager
