Mr.Michael Walton October 16,2003
Walton Engineering,Inc.
The laboratory results of the soil sample analyses indicated that only slightly elevated concentrations
of the fuel oxygenates MtBE and tBA were present in one soil sample collected from beneath the
former product lines(S4-PL1 in Table 2). In addition,low concentrations of TPHg and total xylenes
were detected in the soil sample composites collected from the soil stockpiles generated during the
fuel system renovation work (see Soil Stockpiles in Table 2). According to these laboratory data,
significant soil contamination had not occurred beneath the former fuel dispensers or underground
product lines. The laboratory report for these soil sample analyses is presented in Appendix A of this
report.
TABLE 2
LABORATORY RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLE ANALYSES
FUEL DISPENSER REMOVAL
15 GRANT LINE ROAD, TRACY, CALIFORNIA
<`:: .;.
Fuel Dispensers
S-3-17131 <1.0 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005
S-3 FD2 <1.0 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005
S-3-17133 <1.0 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005
S-3-FD4 <1.0 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005
S-3-FD5 <1.0 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005
Product Lines
S-44'Ll <1.0 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 0.44 0.23 <0.005
S13I'L2 <1.0 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005
S4-PL3 <1.0 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005
S-4-1114 <1.0 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005
Soil Stockpiles
SP2a-d 1.4 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 0.13 <0.005 na na
SP2e-h 2.0 <0.005 <0.005 <0.005 0.0084 <0.005 na na
Laboratory results of soil samples are reported in milligrams/kilogram(parts per million)
TPHg=Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons in the range of gasoline
B=Benzene T=Toluene E=Ethylbenzene X=Total Xylenes
MtBE=Methyl t-Butyl Ether tBA=t-butanol
Other Oxys=di-isopropyl ether(d1PE),ethyl t butyl ether(EtBE)and t-amyl methyl ether(tAME)
<=Less than the laboratory method reporting limit
na=not analyzed
CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the field evidence and laboratory analytical data of the soil samples collected from beneath
the former underground storage tank, fuel dispensers and underground product lines at the site, it
appeared that significant soil contamination had not occurred.
