Inc. has prepared this workplan, .on behalf of The Customer Company for the <br /> performance of additional subsurface investigation activities at the above referenced site. The <br /> purpose of the additional subsurface investigation,is to evaluate the horizontal and vertical extent <br /> of petroleum impacted soil and groundwater. This.work is being done at the request of San <br /> Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) in their correspondence dated March <br /> 8, 2004. <br /> I <br /> The. scope of work includes. advancing three CPT borings and six Geoprobeg soil borings, <br /> collection.and`=.:analysis of selected soil"and groundwater samples, and preparing an investigation j <br /> report detailing site activities. The scope of work is described in detail in the following <br /> paragraphs. <br /> SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located on the north side of East Grant Line Road in Tracy, California, as shown on <br /> Figure 1. The location is a residential and commercial area. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> On March 3, 1988, two. 10,000-gallon underground storage tanks (USTs) were excavated and <br /> removed from the site. One was used to store leaded gasoline and one was used to store <br /> unleaded gasoline. Groundwater was encountered in the UST excavation at approximately seven <br /> feet below ground surface (bgs).
