(ATC) has prepared this workplan addendum, on behalf of The Customer
Company, describing proposed subsurface investigation activities to be conducted at the above
referenced site (Figure 1). The purpose of the subsurface investigation is to evaluate the lateral
and vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon impacted soil and groundwater. This workplan
addendum was prepared in response to a correspondence letter issued by the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) dated October 30, 2008. ATC generally concurs
with the comments provided by the SJCEHD. As requested, the workplan has been revised and
is being resubmitted as an addendum to the previous workplan.
The revised scope of work includes: conducting:a survey with a private utility locater to locate
and identify underground utilities at the site, obtaining drilling permits, obtaining off-site access
authorization, advancing four soil borings.at the.site, collecting soil and groundwater samples for
chemical analyses, completing the soil borings as,groundwater.monitoring wells, and preparation
of a summary report. The revised scope of work is described in detail in the following
paragraphs.
I
SITE HISTORY
Two 10,000-gallon underground storage tanks (USTs) were excavated and removed from the site
on March 3, 1988. One UST was used to store leaded gasoline and the other UST was used to
store u
nleadedg asoline. Groundwater was encountered in the UST excavation at approximately
seven feet below ground surface (bgs). Laboratory analyses of two samples of groundwater
collected from within the excavation indicated the groundwater had been impacted by petroleum
hydrocarbons.
On March 29 and 30, 1988, three monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3) were installed at
the site and Kleinfelder conducted a sensitive receptor survey within a 2,000-foot radius of the
site. Based on Kleinfelder's Groundwater Assessment Report dated April 1.2, 1988, petroleum
i 5:\Environmenta1\25847\37 Tracy\Reports\wkp-addendum 2009.doe 1
f
1
