Mr John Johns=
Project 113-26-03,January 11,19%
Page 2
A passive skimmer was installed in MW-4 by Parker Environmental Services on
• February 11, 1993, to collect floating product The skimmer allows gasoline to enter
through a selective membrane that keeps water out. Ms. Lunda Turkatte, a Health
Specialist from San Joaquin County, was present during the installation. No free
product was collected in the skimmer during the monitoring period, and no visible
sheen or free product was apparent in MW-4 during this time.
Groundwater sampling was performed by Parker Environmental in February, May,
August, and November, 1993. Drums with purge and wash water from the first 2
quarters were removed on August 3, 1993 The liquid was taken to Gibson Pilot
Plant in Redwood City by Erickson, Inc. of Richmond, using a hazardous waste
manifest.
z
Groundwater flow direction was to the northeast m November, 1993, compared to
the north in August, 1993, and to the southeast in May, 1993. MW-2 and MW-3 were
ND (non-detect) in August, 1993. MW-1 had 160 ppb TPH-g (ND for benzene), while
MW-4 had 41,000 ppb TPH-g and 2,200 ppb benzene.
Groundwater monitoring was performed on September 9, 1994. The passive
skimmer again contained no product and was removed from MW4. Average depth
to groundwater was 6.78 feet, with flow to the north-northwest. MW-4 had 2,500 ppb
TPH-g and 350 ppb benzene; MW-1 had 610 ppb TPH-g and 0.80 ppb benzene; MW-2
was ND for TPH-g with 0.80 ppb benzene, MW-3 was ND for TPH-g and benzene.
• II- Current Activities
Groundwater samples were obtained on December 22, 1994. Prior to sampling,
groundwater elevation measurements were obtained using an electric water-level
meter. Results are presented in the table below.
Table 1 - Well Data
Cheaperl Store #37
15 East Grant Line Road, Tracy, California
December 22, 1994
Well # Well Top Elevation Depth to GW GW Elevation*
MW-1 100.20 6.13 94.07
MW-2 10020 6.14 94.06
MW-3 10140 - 7.26 94.14
MW-4 99.20 5.15 94.05
* An arbitrary elevation of 100.0'was established on the site for the GW elevation. All elevations
given in feet.
Parker Environmental Services, 190 East 7th Street, Pittsburg, CA 94365-2317
Pbone (510) 439-1024 Fax (510) 439.2566
