We are enclosing three ( 3) copies of our
report. Additionally, please find enclosed a preliminary
remedial outline where we have compared several recognized
' techniques.
This project was initiated in response to the results
indicated in a preliminary investigation for a potential
purchaser of the property (Alt & Witzig File: N0229 ) . The
preliminary pro3ect consisted of several borings in areas
identified as potentially containing contaminated soils. The
borings indicated relatively low levels of petroleum hydrocarbon
in all areas except near the facilityls underground storage
tanks.
' In borings B-3 and B-4 near the tanks , relatively high levels
of contamination were indicated from ten (10) to sixteen (16 )
feet below the ground surface. Confirmatory laboratory analysis
indicated a total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) presence of 232
' - parts per million (ppm) .
The current investigation consisted of installing several
borings and two monitoring wells around the property In an effort
' to delineate
area of the extents of contamination. It appears that an
the
60' x 75 ' has been contaminated.
Additionally, the groundwater table has also been contaminated.
1
' OFFICES
CINCINNATI OH30
EVANSVILLE INDIANA Page 31
rT WAYNE INDIANA
' 1 AFAYETTE INDIANA %0tI'%UR1 ALL INVLSI{DATION AND FOUNDATION ENDINEERIM
TERRE HAUTE INDIANA (ONS I RUM ION AtiATERIALS TLSTING AN[) INSPECTION
SOUTH BEND INDIANA ENVIRONAIENTAI_SERVICLS
68
