T
CONCLUSIONS AND DISCUSS1014S
I
A series of borings, fifteen ( 15 ) in all , were emplaced
I
around an underground storage tank installation to define the i
limits of contamination present in the subsurface environment. A
i
v plume, situated approximately eleven (11 ) feet below ground
surface , extends in a roughly eliptical fashion from the tank
iinstallation (see plume: estimate diagram) .
It is recommended that the tanks be verified for tightness
' via a recognized testing technique. The evaluation of the
facility records indicates a fair chance that the unleaded
gasoline tank does have a small leak. If the tanks prove to be
tight, it will be assumed that the previous tank, which has
supposedly been removed, was the source of contamination. If the
tanks are found to leak, their removal/or repair is mandated.
It is recommended that the Ohio EPA be notified of the
presence, extents and concentrations of contamination. Mr.
Edward On,ia, 419/352-8461 is in charge of proDects in this area.
We have prepared an additional document outlining several
- remedial techniques and gross approximations of the associated
costs .
