Project 113-26, Page 21
7,0 CONCLUSIONS
I
These conclusions and recommendations are based on the Phase I Environmental
Assessment described in this report and are subject to the limitations set forth in
Section 8 of this report. The purpose of this assessment was to collect information
. concerning hazardous or toxic materials on or near the study property that may
have impacted soil and ground water quality at the site.
7,1 Conclusions
its constituents are resent in the subsurface soil and groundwater on
Gasoline and P
the study property. The possible source of the gasoline is not clear from the available
• information. Although gasoline was present in the soil and groundwater when the
tanks were removed in 1988, little was detected in the groundwater monitoring
` wells onsite until September, 1992.
Although there is no direct evidence that off-site sources have impacted the
at the site nearby subsurface Bolls and groundwaterY former gas stations pose a
potential threat, The Paladin Mileage Center had two 10,000-gallon tanks removed
with detectable amounts of gasoline and constituents in the water samples
1n 1988,
i
taken from the tank excavation There has been no response to a dune, 1988, County
request for further site assessment. The Tracy Auto Stereo building has no
environmental records on file with the agencies reviewed for this report. However,
the building has the construction and design of a former gas station Tanks may
F have been present at this property. No environmental assessment action has been
taken by the owners of these properties, and the extent of groundwater
contamination from their former underground tanks is unknown.
37
Parker Environmental Services 4183 Rialto court Pittsburg CA 94565.6116
Phune (510) 439.1024 Fax (510) 439-2566
