Thermometers will be used and temperatures will be recorded.
The sampling equipment will be thoroughly cleaned after each use with a PHS-EHD
Y and CWQCB approved non-phosphate detergent and double rinsed. Equipment used
throughout the drilling and sampling process will be steam-cleaned before the
start of each boring. There are two kinds of borings: infiltration borings and
confirmation borings. Infiltration borings are those borings which are used in
the application of H-10 product. Confirmation borings are those borings/wells
placed between infiltration borings, not used in the remediation process, used
to observe communication between infiltration borings. Infiltration borings will
have temporary steel caps which will be removed after remediation and closed with
six-sack sand cement grout to the existing grade.
b. Water Sampling Protocol
After purging, a bailer or other water sampling device will be decontaminated
by cleaning with State approved non-phosphate detergent and double rinsed with
distilled water. The bailer is then lowered into another monitoring well to
obtain the water sample. The bailer and all attachments will be decontaminated
between each sample. After transferring the water sample to an appropriate sample j
jar, the sample is labeled and then iced down for transport to a state certified
laboratory. Each water sample will be recorded on a Chain--of-Custody form
identifying the water sample, sampler' s initials, date, temperature, appropriate
analytical tests, couriers used, and responsible laboratory personnel.
j
a
f
104 '
