1
02 June 1997
AGE-NC Project No 95-0105
' methods 5030/8015m for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and as diesel (TPH-g
and TPH-d), and in accordance with EPA methods 602 for volatile aromatic compounds (benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes BTE&X) and methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE)
3 3 GROUND WATER ELEVATION AND GRADIENT
' The elevation of ground water in each well was calculated by subtracting the depth to ground water
from the surveyed casing elevation The ground water depth and elevations are summarized in Table
' 3 Monitoring well casing elevations were surveyed by Kleinfelder, Inc , relative to a City of Tracy
bench mark Ground water elevations were similar to the December 1996 measurements except for
a 0 8-foot rise to monitoring well MW-4
The ground water gradient for 19 March 1997 was calculated to be 0 0026 ft/ft directed N 28° W on
' the southern portion of the site, the gradient was directed due north on the northern portion of the
site, and also was calculated to be 0 0061 ft/ft, directed N 23°E north of the site The gradients and
flow directions are consistent with regional flow directions The ground water elevation at the site
is illustrated in Figure 5 - G ound Water Elevation
' 3 4 LABORATORY REPORT OF GROUND WATER MONITORING,
In the March 1997 sampling, TPH-g was detected in monitoring well MW-4, at a concentration of
13,000 ppb Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes were detected in MW-4 at concentrations
of 62 ppb, 760 ppb, 660 and 1,700 ppb, respectively TPH-d was detected in MW-4 at a
' concentration of 560 ppb Petroleum hydrocarbons were not detected in the sample collected from
the remaining wells at the site The analytical results for the ground water samples are summarized
in Table 4-Analytical Results of Ground Water Samples The laboratory report(AAL Batch No 97-
0320-017), QA/QC Report and chain-of-custody are included in Appendix D
' 4.0 DISPOSAL OF SOIL CUTTINGS
On 05 May 1997, four drums of soil cuttings generated during installation of soil borings on the site
' and off the site, were transported by AGE to Forward, Inc , in Manteca, California and disposed A
copy of the transporters manifest is included in Appendix E
r
