Former Unocal#6981 • April 9,2010
4707 Pacific Avenue page 2
Stockton, CA 95207
switched, and they are working to resolve the issue. Well VW-2 is an important well as it is
screened across the water table and would provide good information of the quality of the
shallow groundwater above VW-7, which is the remaining hotspot of groundwater
contamination at this site. Well VW-7 was built to total depth of 60 feet bsg and has a
discrete 5-foot long screen interval. Please add monitoring and sampling of well VW-2 to
the semi-annual groundwater sampling schedule. The next sampling event at this site
should occur in the third quarter of 2010.
Please proceed with submittal of a work plan to install confirmation soil boring(s) near the
VW-2, VW-5, and VW-7 cluster of wells. The EHD also recommends you conduct a soil
gas survey of this area. Once current soil and soil gas data i4 available, review of this site
for regulatory closure can be completed.
If you have any questions or comments please contact.Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337, or
by email at Iduncan@sjcehd.com.
S//in--c--ere'ly,
y,
Lori Duncan, REHS Nuel C.
