A San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD)
letter received on January 12, 2005 requested details of the damage to the well and how it
will be repaired. The SJCEHD letter is included in Attachment A.
Damage to monitoring well MW-11 appears to be limited to the top five inches of the poly-
vinyl chloride (PVC) well casing. The well casing was bent by unknown causes prior to the
June 16, 2004 quarterly groundwater sampling event conducted by TRC. The bent well
casing currently does not allow groundwater purging and sampling equipment to reach the
water table and the well has not been sampled since the March 9, 2004 sampling event.
Repair to the well will be conducted by cutting off the bent portion of the casing and
replacing it with a new section of blank well casing connected by a PVC coupler. The well
will be surveyed by a California licensed surveyor after repair of the well is completed. The
well will be repaired and sampled during the 2"d quarter of 2005. Sampling results will be
included in the 2"d quarter 2005 quarterly monitoring report for the site.
Please contact Brice Hendricks at: (916) 861-0400 if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
SECOR Internatil al Incorporated
 X77
Brice Hendricks
Project Scientist
Cc.
