The report
requests that the existing soil vapor extraction (SVE) system be removed
because recent system performance operation data indicates that SVE is no
longer a cost effective remedial technology. After review of the site information
and recent data EHD approves of removal of the SVE equipment.
The "Summary of Gauging and Sampling Activities " in the report states that the
groundwater gradient and flow direction is to the southeast. This should be
corrected to state that it is to the northeast as shown in figure 2 of the report.
The monitoring data sheets in the report indicate that monitoring well 11 is
damaged. This well must be repaired so that it is functional for groundwater
sampling. Provide EHD with details on the damage to this well and how it will be
repaired by March 1, 2005.
If you have any questions contact me at (209) 468-3449.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Margaret Lagorio, Supervising REHS
Unit IV
c: SJCADA — David Irey
SECOR — Clinton Harms
CVRWQCB —Jim Barton
