The last four quarterly reports have not provided any
useful information. It seems unlikely that the water
levels will rise in the existing wells any time in the
near future, and deeper wells need to be installed.
2 . The existing dry wells can remain so long as there is
potential for future use, (i.e. vapor extraction or in
anticipation of a rise in water levels) they are sealed,
and in good repair.
3 . PHS/EHD has received the July 11, 1991, correspondence
regarding the scheduling of an attempt to sample July 27,
1991. PHS/EHD plans to be on-site during this attempt.
If the wells are still unable to be sampled on July 27 , 1991,
please submit a work plan for the installation of additional,
deeper wells by September 15, 1991.
Should you have any questions or concerns, contact Steven
Schneider, REHS, of my staff at (209) 468-3441.
Jogi Khanna, M.D. , M.P.H.
Health
Laurie A. otulla, REHS, rogram Manager
Environmental Health Division
% LAC/SS:nr
c: CVRWQCB - Beth Thayer
c: Applied Geosystems, Inc. /Resna Industries - David Stavarek
4191-E Power Inn Road, Sacramento, CA 95826
A Division of Jan Joaquin County Health Care.Services
