El Dorado Street
Remediation and Technology
Stockton, CA 95202-1997
Right-of-Way Acquisition
Unocal SS#6981
Pacific and March Lane
Dear Mr. Cablayan:
On Tuesday, October 10th, I met with Stan Oshita to discuss the proposed Right-of-Way acquisition at
the intersection of Pacific Avenue and March Lane in Stockton. The intent of this letter is to address
some of the concerns I have about the project, update all the individuals involved, and direct future
communications through our property manager.
It is my understanding that the project will be ready to go out to bid by July 1996 and construction
should start soon thereafter. Based on my site visit and the attached figures, my concerns are as
follows :
• Monitoring wells MW-1, MW-3, MW-8, MW-10 and MW-13 may have to be relocated to
facilitate your project. If the wells will be impacted, I can work with Mary Meays at the Health
Department to relocate them as necessary.
• There is a potential that you may encounter hydrocarbon impacted soil depending on the depth of
your work. In addition, I am concerned about the proximity of the underground tanks to the
proposed sidewalk and street.
• The vehicle air and water station and all landscaping will have to be relocated.
• I am uncertain how your project will effect ingress/egress for customers and fuel delivery trucks.
Although the property where our facility exists is leased from Target, it is important to keep Unocal
directly involved in your activities. From now on, please contact Mr. Ralph Legg, Property Manager
for Unocal at (916) 558-7606. His address is PO Box 1948, Sacramento, CA 95812-1948. With his
assistance, we may be able to help facilitate this project.
Sincerely,
David J. Camille
Senior Environmental Engineer
Unocal Corporation
