The
safety plan and a map of lite Emergency Route to lite Hospital are included in Appendix
B. The site safety plan is applicable to personnel of RESNA and to subcontractors of
RESNA. 71-he RESNA geologist will be the Site Safety Officer. Personnel at the site will
be informed of the contents of the site safety plan before work begins. A copy of the plan
will be kept at the work site and will be available for reference by appropriate parties during
the work.
Soil Borings and_Sarn lin
Before drilling, we will acquire a permit from the SJPHS for drilling eight soil borings.
Three of the borings will be completed as monitoring wells and four of the borings will be
completed as vapor-extraction wells. The locations of the proposed borings and wells are
shown on Plate 2.
The purpose of borings B-6 and 13-7 (near the north boundary of the site) is to evaluate the
lateral extent of residual hydrocarbons previously detected in soil samples from borings B-2
and B-4 (Applied GeoSystems, 1991), and to construct deeper monitoring wells. Proposed
boring B-8 will be used to construct a deeper upgradient monitoring well near the south
boundary of the site.
The purpose of borings B-9 and B-10 (near the north side of the dispenser islands) is to
evaluate the lateral and vertical extent of residual gasoline hydrocarbons previously detected
in soil samples collected from beneath the dispenser islands and boring B-2 (Applied
38032-aw
