The third period
of excavation and stockpiling of lead impacted soil is continuing. The first period of
excavation/stockpiling began on July 11, 1995 and continued through July 19, 1995.
Approximately 2,950 cubic yards (cy) of impacted soil was excavated and stockpiled on site
during this initial phase of excavation. Analytical results (total lead) from confirmation
samples collected after the first period of excavation indicated that additional excavation was
necessary. The second period of excavation/stockpiling began on August 7, 1995 and
continued through August 11, 1995. An additional 2,500 cy of impacted soil was excavated
and stockpiled on site during this period. Analytical results (total lead) from confirmation
samples collected after the second period of excavation indicated that additional excavation
was still necessary in some areas of the site. The third period of excavation/stockpiling
began on October 24, 1995 and is still in progress. An estimated 16,000 cy has been
excavated to date during this third period. Throughout all periods of excavation, the
stockpile area has been fenced and the stockpiled soil has been covered with visqueen
G
469-017.1 tr/01-03-96/u/kwrigh/keydata/oldtracy/letters
Denver•Phoenix•Kansas City•Dallas•Houston•Los Angeles•Sacramento•Little Rock•Knoxville
t
A Subsidiary of SP Environmental Systems,Inc.
