This report was prepared by Geomatrix
Consultants, Inc. on behalf of Chevron Environmental Management Company and documents the
additional field work conducted at the site, as approved by the California Regional Water Quality
Control Board (RWQCB) in both its July 30, 1999 and September 3, 1999 letters. In its
September 3, 1999 letter, the RWQCB requested an explanation as to how the extent of impacted
soil surrounding MB-1 was established. The extent of the impacted soil around MB-1 was
estimated based on data from four sampling locations surrounding MB-1 (B-7, B-13, B-14, and
B-16), and knowledge from neighboring sites, that groundwater in the area flows to the north.
If you have any questions or require additional information, please call Elizabeth Lu at(925)842-
1343.
Sincerely,
K.
