From: Edward W.Finucane,PE, QEP,CSP,CIH
Subject: Report#031001-L,concerning the measured levels of ambient and surface contamination
that remain in the three bedroom home situated on the dairy property located at:
15420 East Highway 4
Stockton, CA 95215
This on-site evaluation was completed at approximately 12:20 PM,on Monday,27 October
2003.
The structure on the above listed property were raided by narcotics officers who had been advised at the
time of their raid that this structure had been,or was being, used as"Drug Labs,"most probably for
the manufacture of methamphetamines or"Crank." Because of the inherent hazards of clandestine
drug manufacturing operations, concern remained about the possibility that hazardous chemical resi-
dues might still be present in this house.
On Monday morning 27 October 2003,1.surveyed the ambient air in all portions of this living unit us-
ing analytical instrumentation that had been calibration checked on the previous afternoon, namely,
Sunday,26 October 2003. The instruments I used are capable of detecting and quantifying low con-
centration levels(0.01 to 0.10 ppm)of all the volatile solvents commonly used in the manufacture of
illicit drugs. In order,I monitored for: (1) acetone,(2)dichloromethane,(3)isopropanol,(4)methanol,
(5)toluene,(6) 1,1,1-trichloroethane,and finally,(7)chloroform. I was able to determine that every ar-
eas within this structure was clear of hazardous or toxic levels of the vapors of each of these chemicals.
In addition,I checked the three most likely chemicals disposal locations, looking for any evidence of
acidic or alkaline residues. Each of these locations, too, was completely clear of any detectable hazard-
ous wastes.
It is my judgment that none of the interior portions of this structure pose any health hazard to anyone
who would be required to be in any part of it.
Should you have any questions on any of the conclusions of this letter report, please do not hesitate to
contact me. Thank you very much for pernvtting me to be of service to you in this matter.
Sincerely,
BCSp
