BACE Environmental <br /> A Division Of <br /> • ®® Brunsing Associates, Inc. <br /> February 15, 1993 2601 <br /> Mary Meays <br /> San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> P O Box 2009 �cr ' <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 t� <br /> RE: QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING EIY#flR� l�iTAl� <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY SITE #2441 , P1✓hNHlT/ L F1 ¢K !.! <br /> Dear Ms Meays <br /> This quarterly groundwater monitoring report has been prepared by Brunsing <br /> Associates, Inc (BAI) on behalf of Doane Products, Company (DPC) for the site <br /> located at 450 East Grantline Road in Tracy California <br /> BAI sampled wells MW-1, MW-2 and P-2 on January 19, 1993 Mr Harlon Knoll of <br /> the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) was present to witness the <br /> sampling The well head monument and casing cap of well P-2 were found to be <br /> destroyed by the truck traffic at the site Surface water filled the cavity around the <br /> well head up to the top of the casing indicating that surface water may have <br /> infiltrated into the well at some time No surface water was entering the well at the <br /> time of observation on January 19, 1993 Due to the potential of adverse impact of <br /> the groundwater from surface water, approximately 14 casing volumes of water <br /> were purged from the well prior to sampling After completion of sampling, a water <br /> tight cap was replaced on the well, the well head was buried in soil and a barricade <br /> was placed over it to seal and protect the well head <br /> Sample Methods <br /> Prior to sampling, the wells were purged until pH, temperature and electrical <br /> conductivity stabilized Groundwater samples were obtained in clean, single use <br /> disposable bailers using a VOC sampling port to minimize the disturbance of the <br /> samples The samples were placed in laboratory supplied containers, labeled and <br /> placed in a cooler containing blue ice The samples were transported under chain- <br /> of-custody procedures to BACE Analytical and Field Services (BAFS), a California <br /> EPA certified laboratory <br /> Purge and cleaning water were placed in a sealed 55-gallon drum on the site for later <br /> characterization and disposal <br /> 1735 E Bayshore Road,Sutte 2A,Redwood City, CA 94063 Phone (415)364-9030 Fax (415)364-9032 <br />
