'S 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This Report of Findings has been prepared to document additional soil and <br /> ' groundwater investigation activities performed by Brunsing Associates, Inc (BAI) <br /> on behalf of Doane Products Company (DPC) at 450 East Grantline Road, Tracy, <br /> California This work was performed at the request of the San Joaquin County <br /> ' Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (SJCPHS) in <br /> correspondence addressed to Mr Bob Robinson of DPC, dated July 6, 1992 <br /> ' 1.1 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> BAI completed the following scope of work <br /> 1) Constructed monitoring well MW-2 on the east side of the former <br /> excavation This monitoring well was constructed to replace a <br /> ' monitoring well (P-1) destroyed during remedial excavation on <br /> December 11, 1992 <br /> 2) Placed two shallow hand-augered soil borings adjacent to the existing <br /> restroom structure and one soil boring beneath the structure in order <br /> to obtain a minimum of three additional soil samples for analysis <br /> 10 These soil samples were obtained to quantify the lateral extent and <br /> estimated volume of remaining petroleum hydrocarbons remaining in <br /> the soil adjacent to the remedial excavation <br /> 3) Performed groundwater sampling in the previously existing wells <br /> (MW-1 and P-2) and in the newly constructed well (MW-2) <br /> 1 <br /> ' 1.2 BACKGROUND <br /> In January 1990 three underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the <br /> subject site The USTs consisted of two 10,000 gallon USTs previously containing <br /> diesel and one 500 gallon UST previously containing unleaded gasoline Reported <br /> ' analytical results of soil and seep water samples indicated the presence of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons At that time, approximately 100 loose cubic yards (LCY) of noticeably <br /> contaminated soils were stockpiled on site <br /> . 1 <br />
