1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report is prepared by Brunsing Associates, Inc (BAI) to state the results of an <br /> investigation of the extent of soil and groundwater contamination around a former <br /> underground storage tank (UST) excavation at the Doane Products Company (DPC) <br /> facility located at 450 East Grantline Road in Tracy, California (Figure 1) This <br /> investigation was carried out in accordance with the State Water Resources Control <br /> Board Leaking Underground Fuel Tank (LUFT) Field Manual (October 5, 1989) and <br /> the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board [RWQCB Tri-Regional <br /> Recommendations (August 1990)] <br /> BAI has carried out the following scope of work in accordance with a revised <br /> workplan dated February 4, x991 <br /> • Installation and development of one four-inch diameter <br /> groundwater monitoring well in a predetermined down-gradient <br /> direction from the former UST pit, <br /> • Installation of two piezometers for use in conjunction with the <br /> monitoring well to verify the local groundwater gradient to be as <br /> reported from off-site, <br /> o Placement of three additional soil borings to determine the lateral <br /> extent of contamination and to characterize backfill soil, <br /> • Analysis of one down-gradient groundwater sample to determine <br /> the presence of hydrocarbons within the groundwater, <br /> Analyses of five soil samples from the vadose zone and one from <br /> within the saturated subgrade soils below the former UST to <br /> determine the extent of the soil contamination <br /> This investigation is hrxuted in scope to the UST field containing three USTs located <br /> as shown on Figure 2 and Figure 3 <br /> 2.0 SITE BACKGROUND <br /> 2.1 Site History <br /> The property was purchased in 1985 by DPC From Yandell Trucking Co The <br /> following USTs that were installed in 1963 existed on the property <br /> 1 <br /> BRUNSING ASSOCIATES, INC14.1 <br /> 4V <br />
