Inc. to develop <br /> this work plan fcr remediation of the gasoline-contaminated soil at its parcel of land <br /> located at MacArthur Drive and Grant line Road in Tracy, California. Site location <br /> and topography are provided in Figure 1. fnteriand work approval is included in <br /> Attachment A. <br /> BAC;KGROUV_IZ_AND PTURPOSE <br /> In January 1990, Clayton conducted a Phase I environmental assessment of the <br /> subject property. The assessment revealed that a gasoline underground st:iraae tank <br /> (UST) was removed from the site in 1986. KapreAan Engineering, Inc. (KEI) had <br /> been retained.by the owner, Mr. Jim Joseph, to install a groundwater monitoring well <br /> near the removed UST. The well was installed to a depth of 35 feet. A water sample <br /> from the well was analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline and <br /> for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene (BTEY). All of these constituents <br /> were below detectable limits.. Clayton could not find the well during the assessment. <br /> We were later informed that it had been abandoned. <br /> At.the.reyuest of Orchard Supply.Hardware (OSH), the potential purchaser of the <br /> property. Clayton installed three monitoring wells at This site.
