Figure 2 shows the locations of the
boreholes.
' On April 5, 1991, five boreholes were installed to a depth of approximately 9 feet
below ground surface with an 8-inch hollow-stem auger from a truck-mounted rig.
i Lithologic !riga of the soil types underlying the site were maintained by Clayton
geologist, Richard Silva. Copies of these logs are presented in Appendix C. Soil
samples were collected at approximately 4 and 9 feet below ground surface.
< a soil cuttings and sampling spoils generated by the drilling process were placed into
` individually labeler{, DOT-approved 55-gallon drums and left onsite until proper
disposal can be determined based on laboratory anal;sis.
Aqua Science backfilled the boreholes with neat grout..
F _
3.2 SEPTIC TAKK CLOSURE
Fuel Oil Polishing and Carl's Trenching Services from Sonoma, California, provided
i the septic tank excavation and closure services under subcontract to Clayton. Figure 2
I shows the approximate location of the removed septic tank. 7ne original application
for san tarion permit with sketch map is included in Appendix D. Septic tank.#2 was
originally used by—Grantline Station (a tavern), located at 8885 W. Grantline Road.
On April 25, 1991,we began field activities for the proper destruction of the septic
tank. Granite Construction was performing road construction work nearby. During
1 exploratory excavation to locate septic tank #2, a representative of Granite
Constniction,informed Clayton that_they had.destroyed the septic tank during.recent
construction to widen MacArthur Drive. Fuel Oil Polishing excavated the area of the
septic tank.to.confirm its destruction.
Mr. Gregory Olivers, San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental
Health Specialist, observed field activity and stated that, based on the findings, the
a septic tank issue could be officially closed.
. 3.3 MtONITOPMG WELL SAMPLING
9 Groundwater was sampled from monitoring well MW-3B on May 2, 1991. Water
sampling data sheets are presented in Appendix F.
