Clayton
Exl'iF0\siE\Ti,
CUSULT.i\TS
4.3 GROUNDWATER SAMPLE ANALYSES
Groundwater samples were collected from monitoring well MW-3B. Analytical results
revealed gasoline, BTEX, diesel, and total petroleum.hydrocarbons were below
detection levels. The results of the laboratory analysis are in Appendix E.
5.0. C-ONCIrUSIQN,S AN RECOMMENDATIONS
We did not detect total recoverable hydrocarbons in the soil samples collected from
B14-1, BH-2, BH-3, BH-4, and BH-5.
i
Reanalysis of the MW-3B soil sample revealed oil and grease, diesel, and
hydrocarbons at 4 feet below ground surface. However, we did not detect these
constituents in the soil samples taken from.any of the five boreholes at the 4-foot
interval. These constitu;-nts do not leach easily from soils, and anaysis of
groundwater samples from MW-3B did not reveal detectable concentrations. Because
the analysis of soil samples from the adjacent boreholes has demonstrated the limited i
extent of the constituents in the surrounding soils, Clayton recommends no further soil
remediation at the subject site.
Granite Construction located and destroyed the remaining septic tank during road
construction. This was confirmed.by Clayton and Mr. Olivera.
j On April.25, 1991, Ms. Hinson requested one additional quarterly water sampling of
monitoring well MW-3B before she will recommend site closure to the Regional
Water Quality ControJ Board.
On May 2, 1991, Clayton conducted the additional quarterly water sampling of
monitoring well MW-3B. Concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons in the
water samples were below.detection levels.
1 .
Therefore, Orchard Supply Hardware requests San Joaquin County Public Health
Services recommend site closure to the Regional Water Quality Control Board. i
x
-4- -
