Clayton <br /> (%4IRO%tIE f%L <br /> UIV�LI 1A14 <br /> horizontal and vertical extent of petroleum contamination around well MW-3B The <br /> - plan was approved by SJC/EHD. <br /> Clayton was retained by OSH to complete the following tasks: <br /> i • Install five boreholes around MW-3B <br /> • Quarterly groundwater sampling of MW-3B <br /> _ Excavate a second septic tank <br /> These tasks were documented in our report,Additional Soil and Groundwater <br /> Investigation for Orchard Supply Hardware, dated May 21, 1991, and are summarized in � <br /> c ^s the following subsections. <br /> 6.1 INSTALLATION OF BOREHOLES AROUND MW-311 1 <br /> Installation and sampling of five boreholes BH-1, BH-2, BH-3, BH-4 and BH-5 was <br /> { performed on April 5, 1991. The borehole installation was observed by Ms. Hinson. <br /> F„v <br /> Borehole locations were selected to better define the extent of shallow soil <br /> contaminationja the vicinity oUmonitoring well MW-3B and the leach lune from <br /> t former septic tank #1 (Figure 5). This septic tank was removed by Clayton on August <br /> � 17, 1990. <br /> Ck <br /> Soil samples were collected from 4 feet and 9 feet bgs.
