(Arcadis) is Email:
pleased to submit this Well Destruction Work Plan Addendum for the above Tamera.Rogers@arcadis.com
referenced site(Site; shown on Figure 1)Twenty of the 33 Site wells have
Our ref:
already been destroyed in accordance with the June 2, 2013 Well Destruction B0035135.1515
Work Plan submitted by Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. (Stantec). The Site
wells were destroyed between March 23 and April 21, 2015 and documented in
the Well Destruction Report submitted by Stantec on June 17, 2016. Due to the
following health and safety or logistical impediments associated with the overdrill
method, the remaining groundwater monitoring wells(VW-4 and MW-15)and
sparge points(SP-1, SP-3, SP-4, SP-5, SP-6, SP-7, SP-8, SP-9, SP-10, SP-12,
SP-13)were proposed to be destroyed by blast perforation in a Work Plan
Addendum submitted by Stantec on February 19, 2016.
• VW-4 is adjacent to identified subsurface utilities that would be damaged by over drilling;
• MW-15 is adjacent to a bus stop on Pacific Avenue(a major arterial roadway), and set up of a
drill rig would significantly disrupt traffic;
• Due to the sparge points'diameter and depth(65 feet below ground surface[bgs]), stingers could
not be used to keep the drilling augers centered on the well. This issue was observed when
destroying sparge points SP-2 and SP-11.
Page:
E:\Projects\76PP Project Folders\351515-Stockton\5 Deliverables\Work Plans\351515 Work Plan Addendum_FINAL_091216.docx 1/4
