GROUNDWATER SAMPLING PROCEDURES
' Prior to water sampling, the depth to water was measured in the monitoring wells with a water
level probe and recorded
' Groundwater in the monitoring wells was sampled according to the following methodology:
' 1 The wells were checked for the presence of floating product by partially
submerging a clear teflon bailer past the air/water interface to collect any
rpossible product for measurement
' 2. At least three well volumes were removed from each well or the wells were
purged dry, and the water level was allowed to return to $0% of original water
level. The pH, conductivity, and temperature of the purgewater were measured.
' These data were recorded on the purge and sample data sheets
3. Samples were collected using a new disposable bailer for each well
4 Samples for analysis were transferred from the bailer to appropriately prepared
containers Care was taken when transferring the water from the bailer to the
' containers to avoid turbulence The containers were filled and the caps slipped
onto the containers so that no air bubbles were trapped. Samples were then
placed on ice and chilled to less than 4°C
QRTERLYIAPPENDX
