.0
r J5=
i
water from infiltrating into the well. The well head is protected with a
locking well plug beneath an at-grade, traffic-rated well box. Well
construction details are shown on the boring logs in Appendix D.
5 Soil Sample naly-sh
r The soil samples collected from 5-feet bgs in borings- EW-1, AS-1, VE-1 a n d
VE-2 were analyzed by Kiff for TPH-G, BTEX, and the fuel oxygenates MTBE,
D1PE, ETBE, TAME and TBA by EPA Method 8260. These samples were
selected since they were collected from the capillary zone. These analyses
were performed to provide pre-remediation baselines for these locations.
The analytical results are tabulated in Table Two. The certified analytical
report and chain of custody are presented in Appendix F.
The soil sample collected from boring EW-1 contained 850 ppm TPH-G,
2.8 ppm benzene, 22 ppm toluene, 15 ppm ethylbenzene, 80 ppm total
IE xylenes, and 2.6 ppm MTBE. The soil sample collected from boring AS-1
contained 3,400 ppm TPH-G. 11 ppm benzene, 88 ppm toluene, 68 p p m
ethylbenzene, 350 ppm total xylenes, and 1.9 ppm MTBE. The soil sample
collected from boring VE-1 contained 480 ppm TPH-G, 0.32• ppm benzene,
0.11 ppm toluene, 7.8 ppm ethylbenzene, 8.0 ppm total xylenes, 1.1 p p m
MTBE, and 0.49 ppm TBA. The soil sample collected from boring VE-2
contained 140 ppm TPH-G, 0.034 ppm benzene, 0.067 ppm ethylbenzene,
I 0.56 ppm MTBE, and 0.49 ppm TBA.
7 . 0 GROUNDWATER ELEVATIONS
The top of casing elevation, ground surface elevation and horizontal
location of each well was surveyed by Farley Surveying of Stockton,
California on December 10, 2001.. A copy of the survey is included as
Appendix H. Depth to groundwater measurements are presented in Table
Four. A groundwater velevation (potentiometric surface) contour map
prior to the constant rate e .pump test on November 1, 2001 isp resented as
Figure 2 in the pump test report in Appendix 1. On November 1 , 2001 ,
groundwater appeared to flow to the northwest beneath the site at a
gradient of 0.0105.
8 . 0 FEASIBILITY TESTS
Feasibility tests included a step drawdown pumping test, constant rate
— pumping test, air sparging test and a vapor extraction test.
574 West Grant.
