Details of the proposed SOW are presented below.
TASK I - PREPARE A WORKPLAN
Based on the site history and the analytical results of soil and
roundfater samples collected during previous assessments, ASE
ID
prepared this xorkplan. A site-specific health and safety plan has been
previously prepared foc- the site and Nvill be present on-site at all times. A
drilling perp"it from the Sail Joaquin County Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) was previously issued for the
site within the last year and is still in effect. This permit will also be on-
of
n-
site at all times during the drilling portion of the project. ASE will also
notify Underground Service Alert (USA) of the project at least 48 hours
prior to subsurface drilling to have underground utility lines marked in
the site vicinity.
TASK 2 - COND UCT AN AREA WELL SURVEY FOR THE SITE
ASE will conduct an area well survey to identify water supply wells within
2,000-feet of the site. Records from the California Department of Water
Resources and the San Joaquin County PHS-EHD will be reviewed for the
preparation of the area well survey. All identified wells will be located on
a map. Available information on the wells including the well location, well
# owner, well owner address, type of well, and year drilled will be tabulated
in a table.
TASK 3 - DRILL ONE SOIL BORING TO APPROXIMATELY 45-FEET BGS AND
CONSTRUCT A GROUNDWATER MONITORING WELL IN THE
BORING
ASE will drill one soil boring to approximately 45-feet bgs at the site using
a drill rig equipped with 8-inch diameter hollow-stem augers (Figure 3) .
This well was specifically requested by the Regional Water Quality Control
Board to monitor the vertical extent of contamination in deeper water-
bearing zones in a downgradient location.
The drilling will be directed by a qualified ASE geologist. Even though this
location is adjacent to the location of former boring CPT-1, undisturbed
soil samples will be collected at 5-foot intervals for subsurface
hydrogeologic description and possible analysis. The samples will b e
described by the ASE geologist according to the Unified Soul Classification
. System (USCS). The' samples will be collected in brass tubes using a split-
barrel drive sampler advanced ahead of the auger tip by successive blows
574 West Grand Line Road, Tracy, CA Workplan — April 2001
-5-
